the year, over 100 different festivals and annual events are put on by various local groups.

Canada Day | July 1 | Annual Calithumpian Parade, followed by a fun filled day of music, entertainment, activities for the kids, a beer garden, lots of food, fun for the entire family, and a spectacular display of fireworks. The Parade commences at 1pm at the corner of Ridout and Bramley. Live local entertainment in the Bandshell from 2pm to 10pm. There will be food booths, and a beer garden. Port Hope Arts Festival and Farmers' Market | mid August | Up to 35 artists and artisans as well as the Farmers' Market stalls are on display from 9 am to 3pm, on the lawns behind Town Hall. |
Port Hope Antique Farm Machinery, Cars and Fire Truck Show | mid August | from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Activities and events such as farm machinery demonstrations, tractor races and contests, horse drawn wagon rides for the kids, crafts and food booths all provide a fun filled day. The show will feature demonstrations, displays, crafts and live music. Port Hope Fall Fair | mid-September | The Port Hope and District Agricultural Society Fall Fair is one of Canada's longest running fall fairs, running since 1831. Attractions include the midway, ATV, antique car and tractor shows, horse shows, dog agility trials, demolition derby, blacksmithing and milking demonstrations, exhibitions, stage entertainment. All-Canadian Jazz Festival of Port Hope | late September | A gathering of leading jazz musicians from across the country perform concerts, march in the Saturday Walton Street Jazz Parade, & celebrate the energy of the Young Jazz Showcase. 905-885-1938 |
The Dry Stone Wall Festival | late September | Many events such as period music, children's walling sessions, interesting walling demonstrations, training/testing events are all being planned as well as an authentic dry stone wall 'Boat Roofed House' to be constructed as a monument to the people who first came to North America from Europe. |
